Men who suffer from male infertility may also benefit from using NAC. During one study involving 120 men with unexplained infertility (a condition also known as idiopathic infertility), half of the men received 600 mg of NAC for three months, while the other group received a placebo.

 

The men who took NAC not only showed substantial improvement in the viscosity of their semen than the placebo group, but also in the motility and volume. Their oxidative stress was significantly lower, as was the level of antioxidants in their semen.4

 

NAC may also help lower the body’s resistance to insulin. People suffering from obesity and high blood sugar often have a great deal of inflammation, which can lead to the destruction of insulin receptors.5 When this happens, people can develop diabetes.
